Survivorship

This is the last episode of our core curriculum series. In this episode we discuss cancer survivorship as it relates to gynecologic oncology. Additionally we provide a framework for surveillance visits as well the general timing based on primary malignancy. We also give a brief overview of hormone replacement therapy versus hormone therapy in the survivor.

We highlight the importance of discussing prognosis with patients, explore approaches to best estimate it, and introduce a structured framework around it. We define hospice care and review the range of services offered. Lastly, we explore evidence-based strategies for managing symptoms commonly associated with the dying process.
