Palliative Care: Introduction and Symptom Management
This is the first of three episodes on palliative care and end of life. In this episode, we introduce the concept of palliative care - what it is, isn’t, and how to incorporate it. We also dive into common symptoms experienced by patients living with cancer, including pain, nausea, vomiting, constipation, fatigue, anorexia/cachexia syndrome, grief, and depression.

We will discuss tumor growth kinetics, theory behind combination chemotherapy and dosing cycles, pharmacokinetics, how to calculate doses for certain agents, and how to determine whether a therapy regimen is effective for a patient.
